Transoral Endoscopic-Assisted Mandibular Condyle Fracture Fixation System

Current Stage of Innovation

TRL

  • Mandibular condyle fractures are among the most complex injuries in oral and maxillofacial surgery, often leading to significant functional and aesthetic complications. These fractures can severely affect jaw movement, occlusion, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function, resulting in pain, restricted mobility, and long-term joint disorders if not properly treated. Traditional fixation methods, such as open reduction and internal fixation, can be technically demanding due to the deep anatomical location of the condyle and limited surgical access. These approaches often require external incisions, which increase the risk of facial nerve injury, infection, and visible scarring. Additionally, achieving precise alignment and stable fixation in this region can be challenging, especially with conventional tools and techniques. Inadequate fixation may lead to malunion, asymmetry, or functional impairment. Given these limitations, there is a growing demand for a minimally invasive, highly precise, and reliable fixation system that ensures optimal healing and restores normal jaw function.
